Sustainable Solar Energy to Power Your Portable Devices

There are a lot of products on the market now to power your portable electronic devices by using solar energy.

I especially like IOGEAR’s Solar Bluetooth® Hands-Free Car Kit for the ability to take and make calls on your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.  You can mount the device on the windshield and charge on sunny or overcast days.  12 hours of talk time can be made on a 12 hour charge.  This device would be especially useful for long driving trips.

Another company making strides is Solio with their Eco-Mobility solar chargers.  These recyclable chargers can power up 3200+ different devices and can hold a charge for up to a year!  Their Rocsta version has a belt clip attachment which is useful for hiking.

Various solar chargers can also be found on REI’s site.

Consider solar chargers to produce your own free, sustainable, clean electricity from the sun.
